I acquired this from a grandmother who lost her granddaughter. She didn't have the heart to look at it anymore after she was gone, so she stored it away in her basement.
Therefore... It may have a slight smell of dirt/mold.
The clarinet doesn't smell to me, but the sheet music does. The clarinet may have several dust/dirt on it from being stored for so long, but it appears to be in good condition. I'm not sure it it works because I don't know how to use it.
